Ricky Skaggs struck his first chords on a mandolin at age five, and by age six he was sharing a stage with Bill Monroe. To date, he’s been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, the International Bluegrass Music Association Hall of Fame, the Musicians Hall of Fame, and the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame. This 15-time Grammy® winning Bluegrass artist continues to do his part to lead the Roots revival, and he’ll be on the stage of the Newberry Opera House with Kentucky Thunder, October 23rd at 8 p.m. This event will be presented with reduced capacity seating and other COVID-19 safety measures; details online or by calling the Box Office (803-276-6264).
